    Biometric Authenticated Library Network Model for Information Sharing

    To provide the security to the library network or any other network, nowadays we have various newly developed mechanisms to provide security in the form of identifying the user and allowing specific access to the user. User Authentication can be achieved by the way of user name and password but it has very less level of impact to identify the proper user. For this reason the new mechanism like computer access is granted by checking a fingerprint. One can use Biometric Authentication Technique to apply in the library network to provide high level of security to identify the proper user. Biometric-based authentication applications include workstation and network access, application logon, data protection, and remote access to resources, transaction security. This paper discusses the application of Biometric authentication technologies in the field of library network by way of the library model which uses Biometric authentication in the form fingerprint scanning to identify the user and then gets the library resource.

    Implementing IEEE 802.11b/g wireless Local Area Networks: Planning and Operations

    This paper outlines wireless network infrastructure establishment in an outdoor environment and provides experimental methodology and planning test site for an infrastructure mode of IEEE 802.11b/g wireless LAN, using a various types of wireless devices. The paper is also giving in-depth data for real implementation of wireless network. This paper focuses on various benefits of the wireless outdoor network, access point and its use. The paper also gives proper attention for new wireless network establisher to calculate link budget and Fresnel Zone for implanting outdoor IEEE 802.11b/g wireless outdoor network.

    Network Models for Library and Security Issues

    The contribution of networking technologies for a library is significant. The library network and its security are major issues for the library professionals. Libraries and information centers are changing rapidly towards digitization. Now a day’s stand-alone computer is of no use. It must be on network to utilize the resources. Computer networking involves connecting desktop computers, laptops, hubs, switches and other connectivity devices. Library professional requires inside planning in establishing library network in respect of data transmission speed and library applications. This paper presents model for library networks from low bandwidth application to the multimedia rich high bandwidth intensive library applications. The paper is also concentrating on library network security.

    Wireless Wi-Fi Library Networks

    Wireless connectivity is the preferred connectivity in computer networks. It involves connecting laptops, mobile libraries and even bridges to computer networks, without physical wire connections. Wireless connectivity means that individuals can potentially access the Internet, CD-ROM networks and office networks from anywhere and at any time. The lack of a physical connection means that users are able to roam or work wherever they wish and still have access to the computer network. This paper highlights the key elements in wireless connectivity and its potential for deployment in network of libraries.
