    Analysis of the Citation Patterns, Keywords Clustering and Collaboration Networks in Presented Papers of PLANNER Conventions

    In this paper, we present analysis of the papers that were presented in the last nine PLANNER conventions held during the period 2003 to 2014 in North East Indian Universities. The data for this study i.e. number of papers, their bibliographical data along with the keywords were collected from “IR@INFLIBNET”repository as well as from the “Convention’s Proceedings” and the citation data was collected from “Google Scholar”. A total of 445 full papers were selected for this study excluding the abstract papers in which 172 papers have received a total of 481 citations with an average of 1.08 per paper and the remaining 273 papers had no citation. Further, this paper demonstrates yearwise citation patterns, most prominent topics presented, key-word clustering, authorship and collaboration networks of authors from different states from the presented papers in conventions.

    Subject Gateway: Knowledge Discovery Tool by INFLIBNET

    Internet is one of the valuable and probably most used information resources in the libraries present days. Information Technology have made data retrieval easier and faster, giving rise to a substantial industry providing access to professional, business and scientific information. In Indian context a little progress has been made towards increasing the relevancy of the data with the initiation of various search engines and subject directories. In absence of these activities, information sources remain unreachable, unsearchable, hard to find and difficult to access. INFLIBNET Centre’s” Subject Gateway” is an attempt to make the things somewhat simple. “Subject Gateway” allows user to browse subject lists of good quality and evaluated subject resources. A subject gateway allows libraries and related organizations to explore the usefulness of their subject expertise in the organisation of knowledge in the word of network -based, digital information. In this paper we have discussed development and implementation of “Subject Gateway” at INFLIBNET Centre

    Technical Aspects of Managing a Large-Scale ETD Repository - Insights from Shodhganga

    The Due to technological advancement in recent years, Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs) are becoming increasingly popular. On the other hand, due to the complexities associated with it, managing and maintaining large-scale ETD repositories is also becoming a challenging task. This paper thoroughly explores the multifaceted challenges associated with the management of a large-scale ETD repository, drawing invaluable insights from the experience of Shodhganga. It examines critical areas such as the selection of the platform and technology, software customization, workflow orchestration, quality control, userfriendliness, performance optimization, security measures and redundancy and backup strategies. The paper not only highlights the complexities posed by these challenges but also presents innovative and effective solutions to address them. It emphasizes the importance of choosing the right platform and technology for scalability and performance. It also discusses the significance of software customization for academic institutions. Workflow efficiency, quality control, and user-friendly interfaces are highlighted for repository integrity and accessibility. Performance optimization, security measures, and redundancy strategies are detailed to protect academic content and ensure availability in unexpected situations. This paper will serve as a valuable resource for institutions and organizations tasked with managing large-scale ETD repositories. By understanding these challenges and implementing the suggested solutions, repository managers can facilitate the seamless dissemination of academic research.

    VuFind: An Emerging Open Source Discovery Tool

    Since the early days of catalogues, the structure and interface of library tools used for accessing the resources are changing rapidly and dramatically to fulfil the changing user needs. In recent years, the behaviour of library users has been undergoing drastic changes due to increasingly use of web search engines and ICT based services. This paper describes the expectations of such users who are looking for information. It presents an optimized approach that enables academic libraries to provide its patrons with an up-to-date user experience while capitalizing on the unique advantages offered by libraries. Ways of integrating the new solution with the current library environment including features and functionalities of next generation catalogues are discussed
