Based on the results of this study, this paper will seek to identify their awareness and aspiration towards blended learning. Design/methodology/approach – A questionnaire was distributed to students of the LIS of Assam University, Silchar. First, they were asked to state their awareness on BL, and then to express their views for the use of BL in LIS education. Findings – This research revealed that knowledge of Blended Learning is less among respondents. But those who know, they appreciate Blended Learning as compared to traditional one in LIS education. The aspiration of students towards blended learning was examined in their urge to study in LIS course which deals with blended learning format of teaching and learning process. Again it also came to light that students might be more motivated to acquire LIS knowledge through Blended learning. Originality/value – The implementation of BL method of teaching, especially in LIS departments, is very important nowadays as because the future librarians are to work in a blended environment. There are only a few studies about BL in India. This study will help LIS faculty to understand students’perception regarding BL in order to shape the learning paradigm and adopt BL for their classes. According to the Scopus database, 1287 documents were indexed in this field up to 2023. The bibliographic data for these 1287 documents were extracted for analysis using Biblioshiny. A total of 2237 author’s keywords were identified within considered documents. In the field of Altmetrics, aside from the keyword “altmetrics”, the most frequently used keywords are “bibliometrics”, “social media”, and “twitter”. The keyword “altmetrics” was the dominant keyword from 2017 to 2021; prior to that, the keyword “article-level metrics” was the most commonly used in the document. In recent years (2022 and 2023), the terms “covid-19” and “public policy” were found to be the most commonly used keywords. The thematic analysis unveiled the basic themes in three clusters: “altmetrics”, “social media”, and “Research Gate”. The result also uncovered the niche themes “altmetric indicators” and “usage statistics”. The thematic evolution over the years indicated that the articles published between 2016 and 2019 had a lot of variation in themes. Five themes from the first period and seven themes from the second period converged into the main theme altmetrics. The study would be helpful for the researchers to understand the evolution of themes over the years and identify the core and specialised areas in the field of Altmetrics.Item User Level Security Management in a Library Network(INFLIBNET Centre, 2003-02) Sarmah, MukutThe primary goal of a library is to provide access to information resources to the users. However, as libraries move from paper to electronic medium, providing access to resources over a network safety has become very complicated. Security of assets or resources in a library network should be achieved without any compromise. But, if users are not protected from easy and unauthorized access to the library network the stored information may be at risk. So, the network must be protected by creating some security policies. Libraries will be able to protect their resources by making sure that users will use only those resources for which they have been granted access. The paper describes how to assist the library network professionals in the process of users’ security management.
