This paper examines the possibilities of applying open source learning management systems (LMS) in the teaching and learning process of Department of Library& Information Science, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Further, in this paper the role of Moodle LMS as a tool in delivering effective teaching and learning is exhaustively discussed. Through this e-learning platform, the department can provide 24*7 access to learning materials on BLISc and MLISc courses as well as UGC-NET to the students.
