People and organizations around the world adapted to new ways of working and living because they were supported by digital resources. Digitization options enabled companies and educational institutions to migrate to work from home and overcome seemingly impossible situations. The lockdown has allowed people to use the internet and internet-based services to communicate, interact and continue their job responsibilities from home. Whatever the situation may be, the role and support of web technologies is very crucial. We are all familiar with the journey of the web through Web 1.0, Web 2.0, Web 3.0 and so on. This study explores the web 2.0 services provided by libraries. The study also focused on the use of Web technologies as an innovation tool for research and development in Higher Education Institutions.
