In the digital age, the contents are created in the form of web sites, virtual libraries, databases, portals and web logs. The present paper describes the initiatives of Government of India in context with content creation. The recommendations submitted by National IT Task force in the IT Action Plans and their status of implementation has been reviewed briefly.
