Item Technical Implementation of Shibboleth-based Access Management for the N-LIST Programme(Scientific Publisher's India, 2011-02) Patel, Yatrik; Arora, Jagdish, Dr.Information and Library Network Centre, an Inter University Centre of University Grants Commission, acts as a gateway to scholarly content for Indian academic and research community. Centre also provides access to electronic resources to universities and colleges across India through its UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium and N-LIST Programme. INFLIBNET Centre is implementing state of the art, standard based open source technological solutions towards for extending access to e-resource to users irrespective of their physical location. Shibboleth is such standards-based, open source software system that facilitates single sign-on web-based access to electronic resources across or within organizational boundaries. This paper discusses advantages, customization and implementation of Shibboleth-based Access Management Solution for its multiple national award winner N-LIST (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content) programme.Item Institutional Repositories : A Primer(Gujarat National Law University, 2014-03-21) Patel, YatrikAn institutional repository is an online archive for collecting, preserving, and disseminating digital copies of the intellectual output of an institution, particularly a research institution or a university. This article is intended to give basic in-sites of various aspects of Institutional RepositoriesItem Efficient Dynamic Index Structure for Natural Number Intensive Application(International Journal of Computer Applications, New York, 2015-01) Patel, Mayank; Parmar, Bhavesh; Patel, Yatrik; Joshi, HirenWide range of indexing techniques exists in the world of relational database. Speed of data insertion & retrieval depends on the type of query and available Indexing mechanism. Prevalent mechanisms lack in terms of space-time efficiency and simple structure, for real time applications where the database system needs to handle queries like equality search & range search. Even for simple tasks like getting data by ID, a system imposes heavy resource utilization. For example, Applications such as, telephone directory, transaction information details in banking, status about railway reservation etc. , backed with relational database system that employs complex structure like B-Tree or B+-Tree. Hence in such cases, instead of those complex structures, if some lighter technique can be used, which can greatly enhance the overall performance in terms of memory usage and simpler in terms of working & implementation. The paper presents how the Proposed Technique can significantly impact the overall performance, if applied as Primary Indexing method for range search & equality search queries.Item Research Data Management and Libraries(2015-08-14) Patel, YatrikThis presentation gives overview on need of research data management, global scenario, Need of Data Management Plan and role of LibrariesItem Data Repositories in India with Specific Reference to ICSSR Data Service Indian Social Science Data Repository(INFLIBNET Centre, 2016-06) Pradhan, PallabThe raw research data / datasets used in the process of research analysis has immense inheritance value as like the research results itself. So, it is very evident and becoming very important to collect, store and manage such data / datasets properly for further reuse. In this regard, data repositories are becoming the trend setters in research data management and playing a great role for facilitating open access to data & promoting data sharing. Currently, hundreds of data repositories are available on the web covering a wide range of disciplines from around the world; and India is not an exception to it. The ICSSR Data Service has been initiated by ICSSR, New Delhi with aim to promote data sharing at a national level and to provide open access to social science research data / datasets hugely generated by various social science research institutes in the country. This article elaborates the current status of data repositories in the country, specifically the "ICSSR Data Service: Indian Social Science Data Repository". Further, it enumerates in details about ICSSR Data Service i.e. its objectives, development, current status, its features & functionalities, datasets, etc. Also, it explores the in-built online "ICSSR Data Analytics" and visualization tool developed using "R" language.
