Through this initiative entire student community of the institute can access the wholesome collection uploaded in the repository through the open accessibility.Item National Level ETD Efforts: A Comparative Analysis(INFLIBNET Centre, 2016-10) Shrivastava, Prashant; Gupta, Dinesh K.The purpose of this paper is to explore cooperative ETD efforts in USA, U.K, India and China that have larger education systems and larger number of higher education graduates. Also to analysis ETD movement of India in comparison. This paper starts with introduction of cooperative ETD movement in countries in four countries, namely USA, U.K, India, China then proceed with an effort to discuss comparative analysis of findings. ETD movement has been adopted by various countries around the world. This study found that there is a requirement of national level ETD service in each country for the swift growth of ETDs around the world. The authors found that universities level ETD programs are the key factors to promote national level ETD service. This paper gives the recommendation for further analysis to explore the solutions to excel cooperative ETD movement in various countries around the world.ETD development in various countries has been explored by various studies but comparative analysis of cooperative ETD service of various nations have not been done. It will be an effort to explore national electronic thesis service of USA, U.K, India and China.Item The Perceived Ease in Adoption of Electronic Thesis and Dissertation (ETD)(INFLIBNET Centre, 2016-10) Francis, Hepsibah; Vaidyanathan, Rama; Thirunavukkarasu, A.Thesis and dissertations are a unique and rich source of information and it is often the only classic research that always do not channel into publications. They are often an underutilized research asset leading to unnecessary repetition and duplication. Misuse and plagiarism of research work can be identified by maintaining robust ETD. On the perspective of academic pathway, registry and research assortment there are scores of issues, however using ETD to the best is an important strategy to empower knowledge. This article accentuates the usage pattern of ETD and its prospects. A survey was conducted to identify the ease in the adoption of ETD. The felt benefits and opportunities for improvements were identified. It was evident that many researchers have access to ETD. However, the prominent use of ETD was by the PhD research fellows to upload thesis and information search was done at a later stage. Increased efficiency was noted in uploading electronic thesis into the ETD system and it was cost saving. On the flip side to locate the thesis upload site was an intricate process. Information on service strategy that enabled expansion of electronic thesis was reconciled. There was a prominent need for detailed governing procedure to process the electronic thesis submission. To fully utilize the potential of ETD sufficient infra-structure and IT training must be provided for researchers, towards implementing an automated process. Clearly there is a need for administrative procedure to recognise an easy to use procedural pathway. The main objective of this case study involves the update of first phase activity i.e. Digitalization, brief summary on Phase 2 activity that involves development of ETD lab to enhance the progress of Digitalization and also brings out effective usage of access provided to Urkund Software as an approach towards Anti-plagiarism.
